I know I can be a pretty big goofball most of the time, but I want to take a moment to display some sincerity
Thank you so much in advance for listening to these songs. Truth be told, a couple of these songs date all the way back to 2020 (in fact, one or two of them were almost Batting a Thousand songs) and if I can sort of speak for and about myself for a second, these songs are the foundation for a band I dreamt of being in for a very long time. They don’t know I’m writing this, but I want to sincerely thank Viviane, Morgan, and Winter for taking this ride with me, as I’m truly grateful for their involvement and excited to see what the future holds for Tonsil Hockey. If there’s one central theme to these five songs, it’s a theme of becoming comfortable enough with yourself in order to feel comfortable enough to let others in. I started transitioning almost a decade ago but growth doesn’t operate on a hard timeline, and I really wanted to illustrate that in these songs. The fun part for me, however, has been piling into a small practice space (almost) every Saturday with Vivi, Morgan, and Winter, and getting their invaluable help fleshing these songs out and THEN taking these songs to various establishments around town and hanging out with our friends and lovers. Pretty much since day one people have asked when they will get to hear some proper recordings, and while it’s maybe taken a little bit (forgive us), we are very excited to share this record with you.
With Gratitude,
Veronica Prudence
P.S.: We’ll be letting you know who worked on the record in a second but first I want to acknowledge some people who’ve been hugely supportive of the four of us (be it musically or personally) whose names wouldn’t have been listed in these liner notes otherwise.
Those people are: Max, Sammy, Felony, Phobia, Claire, Stel, Lilac, Crisis, Genevieve, Charlotte, Robbie, Sadie, Zoe, Lilith, Agony, Alexa, all the staff at Bar Freda and Hart Bar, and the folks in the following bands: Ultra Deluxe, mirrorxlake, Backflips, The You Suck Flying Circus, Big Cry Country, Fear Not Ourselves Alone, Couch Surfer, Sun Run, Sailor Boyfriend, Warren Britt, Mineshaft, Wifey, Kissy Noises, Ok Cuddle

I started a transition very recently and working on my mental health. I've lost a lot of loved ones as well. so these songs speak to me. I feel most like Cat's Song but the whole album is amazing. Jackie
